Crabby Underground for Months, Came Up w/Old Exoskeleton

Post by crabbygirl68 » Fri Jan 31, 2020 3:32 pm

I’ve never had this happen w/one of my crabbies before. Pixie went under to molt, was down there for at least 3 months, maybe more, and emerged w/her old exoskeleton intact. All that time underground and no molt! Anyone have any idea why this might have happened? (By the way, she’s a really big crabby. The opening in her current shell is at least 1 inch wide.)

I’m not questioning your judgement and I’m sure you’ve had them long enough to know but I had one under for two months and came up looking the same to me but when I took out all the sub to move the tank I found a few left overs from the old exo at the bottom of the tank.

What makes you think she didn't molt?
