Is a 1” opening the next size up from a 7/8”?

I'd look into the 1 - 1 1/4 inch range personally, but an inch so be fine (but not give crabs options if they looking for larger shells).

Alright, thank you. I just wanted to make sure I had that right. The shells in my tank range from 7/8” all the way to 1 1/8”. I’m also trying to include the more popular shells to give my guys more options to choose from. I continue to check the shell guide to make sure I avoid shells like delphinium. Although there was a member here that had a crab wearing a delphinium but never for very long.
