Painted shell

Post by crabsarecute » Sat Aug 11, 2018 3:10 pm

Hi so I recently got 3 E's And two were in painted shells. One of them changed almost emiditly and the other is still in it
I would have no problem with it but the paint on the shell is extremely chipped and is still flaking off. So I would like some advice on how to get it to change shells.

PS i know it doesn't sound like an emergency but I'm really worried.

The problem with Es is that it can be hard to entice them to change. They start to modify their shells and then they don't want to move out.

Try and offer the widest selection you can. They like lightweight shells - nerites and thin turbos are popular. They may need the shells to be a little bigger than you'd expect so they can fit their big back ends inside an unmodded shell.

Rinsing them in the saltwater can sometimes make them seem new and get them to reconsider their options!
