Yes. No one is grilling for them on the beach ;)

Just wash your hands properly after handling raw meat and remove it from the tank if it gets tooooooo stinky before they eat it all.

I accidentally forgot to take out five day old pork, and wow the smell...
You can cook your meats, but I found that crabs prefer it raw.

I have had a massive blue bottle fly infestation in the house twice, both times from forgetting canned sardines for like 3 or 4 days. On the plus side I have mad aim with a swatter now! And I found out my cats are absolutely useless.

The crabs LOVE meat, but it is something to be timely about! Overnight is never an issue and shouldn't smell.
