So, my friend has a yard that's clear and not sprayed with anything... but she only has pine and bradford pear trees.... i saw pine cones on the safe food list but doesn't say anything about pine.... is it safe? also, bradford pear trees, does anyone have these? are these safe?

I don’t know about the pear trees, but I will assume they’d be safe.
Pinecones are definitely safe.

Pine is known to be an irritant for animals, which is why people who have hamsters and smaller rodents reccomend against pine as it can lead to respiratory problems. While crabs dont have lungs, and a few crabbers have had success with pine with their crabs, we still reccomend cation wherever possible in adding pine to the tank - particularly fresh pine.

Oh okay, I'll definitely skip the pine then! I think there's some oak at my mother in laws I can use
