Hermit got spinach today, but he's eating his sand and maybe a shell after he got bored of it. Interesting choice he made.

Tomatoes
dandelion leaves
carrots
cilantro...sprinkled with crushed egg shells.

I don't know how much will of this will be eaten. I still don't know what they like or don't like. I just offer a whole lotta different vegetables, fruits and protein (tuna & chicken). Well I know what they don't like: ANY kind of protein!

Hermit has been given freeze dried bloodworms and ripped up dried cranberries. I only gave him a smaller serving of both since he isn't eating much lately. Just eats his substrate for some unknown reason. Must be like jerky for hunters since he is on a digging spree right now.

Image

An egg cooked in a sauce of tomato sauce and a bit of sesame oil (...and yes, they did react...quite violently!) with sesame seeds, jalapenos, and carrots, topped with egg shell bits and cuttlebone. On the side, bananas (random, I know).

The photo doesn't really do the egg justice because, um, the egg is actually pink.

Yes. Pink. Not red. Pink.

Just...bleeeergh.

Tonight, the last of the frozen rattlesnake, krill, pecans, dried fruit mix with coconut and oats, wodes cookies and flower/greens mixed for salad, and sesame seeds. :) Ran out of moose poop. Is Alaska Hermit still open? I haven't been able to contact them. Oh! And "worm dirt", lol. They love it! Dried papaya seems to be a huge success as well.

Fresh mango
fresh coriander/parsley
freeze dried brine shrimp
Tetra Color fish food flakes (heard they're safe and help with colour. Thoughts?)
dried tri-coloured bell peppers
dried carrots
dried amaranth flowers & seeds
dried lilac
sprinkle of hermit crab heart cookie
sprinkle of calcium circle cookie
sprinkle of sweet star cookie
dried heirloom tomato

Everything from dried amaranth flowers to heirloom tomato comes from Wodesorel. My crabs seriously LOVE her stuff, specially when I mix them up with fresh fruits. I fed some of the other dried veggies last night with some ripe june plum and coriander...and sprinkled some of the cookie bits on top. This morning the food dish was CLEAN. Nothing but sand on it. They really started eating well ever since I got the dried food from Wodesorel :D

Last I checked the peel is a no no.

Tonight its just seaweed and hibiscus flowers, still have some of their freeze dried shrimp left over so I poured that in with the seaweed and flowers.

Well....seeing as I was holding Cry while I watched tv.....the other hermies had raisins, crab kibble, and a smidge of Himalayan rock salt. Cry had part of a hotdog, a piece of mac and cheese, and some coleslawXD
Happy home to Dozer, Squeak, and Cry the hermit crabs, Katie the cat, Amphithere the snake, Papiya and Cantaloupe the goldfish, two cacti and one heck of a climbing vine!
