Cuttlebone

Does cuttlebone lose it's nutritional value after a while? How often should it be replaced?

Since it's calcium and mineral salts, it stays good until it's eaten.

I've noticed if you wet it (which this was by accident) it turns like mushy idk but that's the only time my crab was actually eating it for a while ..... random post

I've had some stay solid and some dissolve in water. I don't know what the difference is myself.

There's been chunks floating around my turtle tanks going on six months now, and are still solid.

Mine loved it at first but then lost interest. I wondered the same thing...did it lose some of its properties? I dunno

If you just leave it in the tank, they will go back to it when they want it. I just poked it into the sub and left it. It has been gradually getting smaller in size, so I know they do eat it. I need to get a new one next time I am in the city!
