Dried flowers?

Post by angelbear » Fri Feb 14, 2020 7:13 pm

Just double checking would this be okay:
It's Tortoise and Box Turtle Flower Food Topper

It has Dried blue cornflowes, dried camomile flowers, dried blue mallow flowers, dried red cornflowes, dried rose petals. That is all no additives or preservatives or nothing else.
Hi, I have been crabbing about 7 now, and these guys have put up alot with my growing pains.

Yes, I use this one and the other one for I think Beardies, with the crabs.

The best mix was wodesorel's Wo'pourri and Garden Mix! We got those and a bunch of her other foods from an adoption we did last year! Our crabs loved that stuff!

Oh, thank you! Depending on how the summer goes, I was thinking about doing a limited run again come fall. That mix was always the best to put together because it was the most fun to collect and dry. My house would smell like lilacs for weeks afterwards, and it gave me an excuse to have gorgeous gardens.

It's got be a lot of work drying all those flowers. We attempted growing marigolds last summer and drying them. Xenocrab hates marigolds too. I don't remember if any made it into the crab tanks!

Trays and trays and trays that dry down to absolutely nothing. 😂 I've never been a huge fan of marigolds either, but they require zero upkeep so it was never a chore to have them. Just plunked them in around the tomatoes for some color at the back.

Also, marigolds help keep deer away!
Just sayin. I grow them for that reason myself!

You can also feed your crabs certain fresh flowers, if they are in your area this time of year. My little fellas enjoy dandelions!

Dried flowers?

I have this same flower mix for my crew. I put it in with a bunch of other foraging items and they love it!

Please do! I want some! Image I’m hoping to get a bunch of lilacs this year now that we live in our new house, I missed the blooms last year thinking I had time.

😁

Lilacs are always the worst for me because I never want to cut them down! I try to steal all the ones on the backside, but that's the side that doesn't get much sun so there's never many. When the lilacs bloom our hummingbirds come, so it's always exciting.
