I was going through different foods on the internet to get some ideas for new foods I could give the crabbies. Are mustard seeds and/or ground ginger ok? I didn't see them on either food list.
Thanks!

They don’t have any potentially toxic compounds as far as I know so they should be fine, but they do have strong flavors so I don’t know if they’d like them on their own.

Re: Mustard Seeds and Ginger?
Thanks JH. Maybe I'll do a little experiment and put just a pinch of ginger in the tank tonight. Those little containers of ground ginger are so expensive, so I don't want to waste too much if they don't like it.

Re: Mustard Seeds and Ginger?
Just checked my small jar of ground ginger. It has another ingredient in it to "preserve color". So I won't be able to try it out.

What is it? Citric acid and ascorbic acid are common and safe, but I would avoid sulfites.

Re: Mustard Seeds and Ginger?
It's a "sulfiting agent", so it's a no go.
