hygrometer comparison

Post by mjjluver » Fri Aug 18, 2017 9:32 am

This is a head to head comparison between
Thermpro TP50 vs. Holmes (came with my humidifier) vs. Zoomed vs. Zoomed using the salt calibration method

If I did the test right, then that means even the digital one reads low by 9%, but certainly better than the analog ones.

The zoomed hermit crab hygrometer is off (underestimates) by 18% and the other zoomed is off (also underestimates) by a whopping 22%.

The Holmes one was a joke. I threw it out.

The analog temperatures are off by about 1-2% when compared to my Oregon scientific digital one.

None of mine have ever been spot on, digital or analog. Definitely need to check all and I recommend rechecking periodically because they can change.
