Home Depot moss?

Post by odelayheehoo » Wed Apr 17, 2019 2:21 pm

I got some spanish moss from home depot, and it was the last bag left. The plastic looks faded and that let me to the conclusion is the moss still good? I moistened it up and it looks fine, just want to check.

Does it say pet/reptile safe? Decorating moss is very different from natural moss. We get ours from pet stores.

It's mosser lee soil cover moss, and it says it's perfect for house plants or even crafts if you want to use it for that, but I have used a bag of this before.

Does it say it's organic? Spanish moss (tilandsia) is heavily insect infested and is often sprayed with chemicals. The type of moss many crabbers buy is the Moser Lee sphagnum moss which says it's organic.

Sphagnum is the best and holds humidity very well. Organic for our crabbies as much as possible.

I don't see organic on the packaging, but if the other moss brands by this seller are organic wouldn't this one be?

Not necessarily. Organics are labeled organic.

And Spanish moss is not actually a moss.

Home Depot Mosser Lee - Is this what you were referring to?
