So I just received a fishing net I ordered from online today. Do I need to boil it? If so, for how long?

I personally wouldn't boil the net... I've heard that it's fine for a few minutes, but personally I'd just soak it in some warm dechlorinated water mixed with a tad of vinegar and leave it out to air dry. (don't forget to scrub it too, toothbrush works fine)

If it's a real, used fishnet - I picked this tip up from sugarselections back in the day. Run it through your washing machine without any soap. They are filthy!!! I tried boiling it and the amount of silt that came out of it was incredible, and it smelled like a dead fish. Putting it through two cycles in the wash left it a lot more managable and the smell went away, too.
