I am looking for some info about setup with a Bean Farm UTH. I taped it to the back wall of my tank, insulated it with Reflectix, and now like 5 hours later, I have a tank that won't get above 79 degrees.
Do I need to do something more? Do I need an 11x35 UTH instead of this 6x35? Do I need to install it to a dimmer? I can feel the heat coming off it, both up against the glass and on the reverse side through the insulation. Photos at links below, any assistance or suggestion is most welcome, I really want to get this tank up and running so I can dial it in before bringing crabs home.

79 degrees is good! Remember that once you have the sub in, there will be less air space needing heated too. So you might notice it will get even higher than 79. I wouldn't do anything else, I would just add your sub!

Good deal, will do. I had a base temp idea of like 80-85, seeing as they are tropical animals and all. I'll start mixing sub today and get filling.
