Looks like he wants to reposition the grass in his tank!
Lol!! Mine have been down for 5 weeks now. It's neat to kinda watch the Marties (our Isopods) wander around the sub. But definitely missing the crab craziness! Grateful that I have a 55 g tank to prep and get ready and basically keep me busy until these guys come back up!

@Kermie16 I think he dreams of being an interior decorator
Don't think he's going down for a molt as he just came up recently with huge long legs! But he & Peanut have been very active!! Jack seems to be my early riser though, up around at 6:30-7:30...then Peanut at 10pm lol

I'm sure they'll show up soon!! Keep busy

Our Spidey crab is back after 5 weeks down with his second molt!! So fun watching him!! This is him taking a break after shaking up the Marties' moss pit (naughty!) and then scurrying up the fish net upside down, flinging himself upright on the reptile vine and now just chilling like nothing ever happened! Lol

The Squid (9) walks up the crab tanks and says "What's new on the hermit crab front?" Then he alerts me to the fact that there are brown worms on the sand. I lean over to look, and there are a group of 3 crabs sitting on top of a slab of bark, pushing poop out of their shells, which is falling into a pile underneath them (about 8 inches below). There are baby isopods and larger isopods heading to the poop to have their dinner, fresh from the crab.

Getting up this morning I hear a faint but noticeable looooooong scraping sound in the tank. It's was going in slow motion. Looked in the back right corner of the tank behind the aquarium rock where the sound was coming from and saw one of our PP, Clare, slowly sliding down the glass tank back into her corner for the day! :hlol:

I'm trying to imagine a hermit crab "flinging" and "scurrying", lol. Mine are pretty sedate, except the three that startle easily!

My crab is always tearing up the coconut fiber and always rests behind it! My other, Fred, loves to "climb" the glass and climbs over the coconut hut.

One of our newest and littlest guy, Kelp, loves to climb behind the coconut mat, crawl all the way to the top and hang there all day. His buddy, other little guy Mini Pinch, sat on the corner guard directly above him all day today like " yeah, I see you" :hlol:
