Weird sleeping place
I have recently purchased a PP hermie for my son. The tank is set up as well as I can do for now (deep soil substrate, 2 water dishes, 2 food dishes etc...). My question is, why is the hermie sleeping next to the heat pad when the tank temp is a steady 80° F?

He may just like that location, or wants to be a little warmer. They will regulate their temperature as needed, which is why it's good to have a little bit of difference in temps closer to and farther away from the UTH. I wouldn't worry, they can be a little weird at times!

what sized tank is it? you should have more than 1 PP. 3 is great! mine are so close they sleep together and have never even had an antena war!
