spot on hermit crab

Post by Venicks » Sat Aug 11, 2018 12:55 am

I recently got a hermit crab and I noticed it had a black spot on it's claw it doesn't look good and looks like a serious problem. I've heard of shell rot and I think its that but I'm fairly new to hermit crab care. If I could do anything for it I would be completely willing to but my only problem is my mom doesn't see them as serious pets. It makes it hard for me to take care of them because I'm not able to buy stuff online for them and I can't get to the pet store. Another thing is I have a calcium block in there and all of my other crabs eat off it except for my new one. I've also put in a lot of different food but I've never seen him eat anything except some bites of a strawberry.
