tat cameras?

Post by ciaraalston » Wed Aug 29, 2018 4:22 am

I am ordering some Wyze cams for our house this week. I've seen some of you have them in your tanks... How do they hold up with the humidity? Do the crabs mess with them? The videos i've watched from some have great quality.

I have 2 different cameras. A Wyze and a 360 cam. Personally, I feel it's a little easier to set up the 360 in the tank than the wyze. So far they are holding up. I have them both hanging up near the top and not close to anything they can use to climb to get at them. I've had the wyze about 6 months and the 360 about 4 months maybe. I will take pics of the set ups and post them here.

Here are the pics. Sorry about the glare. The 1st pic is the wyzecam. Difficult to set it up on an angle. If you come up with something better let me know. Lol.ImageImageImage

I have been meaning to ask about the cameras for a while now. I have a few questions about them?

How many wires are required in the tank, if any aside from charging?

How simple is the interface to connect to the wifi, phone, computer? Similar to a game system?

How well does the live stream work when watching on your phone? Can you save more than 12 second video clips?

Out of the two cams you have which do you prefer?

There's only 1 wire in the tank connected to the camera. Simple interface. I watch it on my phone. And I purchased a 32gb sd card. I prefer the 360 only because it's easier to set up due to its shape.

Does the humidity fog up the lens or get condensation over it?

Nope. Not at all. Which surprises me.

Awesome! I really need to look into one or two of these. We believe our crabs are involved in a conspiracy to hide whenever we are home. These cameras will hopefully debunk that theory we have!

Same! I'd love to see what they're up to at night! Along with our dogs.

The square cam, that's just mounted to your tank lid?

No. It's sitting in a small plastic soap dish. With a piece of burlap underneath so it's above the lip of the dish.
