I have heard that dead hermits smell like dead fish. Ever since they have started molding, the tank has smelled bad, but not like fish. Should I be concerned?

Do you have moss or eco earth? Sometimes they have a bit of a different smell. I think as long as it doesn’t smell like dead fish you should be ok.

Moss and coconut fiber usually have an earthy or woodsy smell. What exactly are you smelling?

Although, I’m guessing the mold is a clue. Could there be buried food somewhere that’s started rotting?

It smells like they may have buried food. Once they come up I will check.
