I keep mine for months. I just clean it with dechlored water and throw any yucky bits out. If it starts to look sad or uber yucky I toss it.

Yep. Just rinse it and reuse it. I have a ton of moss. They love it.

I rinse and reuse for months or until it starts getting slimy. Then I replace.

I've used mine for quite some time. Probably 2-3 months already and I don't see any signs of it breaking down...like people have said before, clean out the nasty bits and keep it rinsed with dechlorinated water and it should last a LONG time.

When you rinse the moss in dechlor water, do you mean you take out the moss, dip it in some dechlor water, squeeze it out then put back in? I just mist with dechlor water - do I need to start taking it out and giving it a wash?

I take it out to wash it like once a month, more if it looks super gross, but mine aren't huge on the moss. They hide in it on occasion but it's not their favorite place to hide, so I don't really have to clean it much.

Good to know! My Isopods like to hang out in the moss. Not sure how I can go about taking out the moss - guess I would have to pluck them off ? Lol!

I take mine out of the moss pit pour dechlor water over it and squeeze out the excess water just to rise off sand and dirt than place back into the tupper ware container and back into the tank.
