I recommend something with depth. I had a 55 gallon but I HATED it because it was too narrow. Height and length were great, just needed depth. Can't wait to see what yall are working on!! :)

Started with a 10g for 3 small/medium crabs. Then got this 55g for 7 small/medium crabs - I’m happy with the space atm Image

I have a 90 gallon equivalent now, and will be setting up the display case crabitat again with a new base that will make it about 200 gallons. It still has the footprint of about a 75/90 though, just extra height!

Xeno and I were approved to be vendors at the 2020 Crab Con! We are going to sell our crabby craft stuff. Ropes, cubes, Acurite Holders, and loose craft mesh in various colors. We also want to make a few of our custom backdrops to sell too. I want to try and figure out one or two sizes that will easily fit in multiple tank sizes. I'm thinking of making them 24" wide by 18" tall. I think that would cover most tank sizes that were already mentioned.

I think if tou want to have a rocking chance to cover most sizes of aquariums, I'd do 30 x 30cm (1ft x 1ft) and 15 x 15 cm (6 x 6 inch)... (maybe even 20 x 20cm (8 x 8 inch) to cover more bases?)

if they could be stitched together (assuming they can) crabbers would be able to a variation of the two sizes to suit their needs.

To make it easier you could also print out a sizing sheet (eg, 55g, 4 1ft squares...) so they'll know how much to buy, or simply offer a deal (55g bundle)

I like securing the backdrop to egg crate. I keep it long so the substrate keeps it tight against the back glass. The background starts at the 6" of substrate level. The top we hold with tension rods. The actual background starts at the 6" of substrate level. That way once it settles you have an easy indication how much more to add. I want to keep them so they are just a drop in place thing. Keep it as easy as possible. I'm afraid having to many options will make it difficult.ImageImageImage

My two are stuck in the 10 gallon because Friday decided to molt when we were planning to upgrade. The 29 gallon is waiting in the basement!
Two amazing PPs: Jarvis, who has been with me since 7/14/18, and NewCrab (still unnamed) since 1/11/21!
And a tortoiseshell kitty: Delia

I'm still pretty new to this and I'm trying to learn all I can!
