Captive Bred, Baby Hermit Crabs!!

Post by BlazeTheWeirdo » Thu Jun 18, 2020 11:34 pm

Today I just got 2 baby hermit crabs from Mary Akers, a well known hermit crab breeder. They are so freaking small!! One of them is 1/4" and the other is 1/2". I was worried about introducing them to my crabs today, but they seem to have adjusted extremely well! Their names are Radar and Flint.

Mary Akers is amazing and included a whole kit of handmade dishes and accessories, food, and extra shells. Image

Oh my goodness! The cuteness! I love the picture of the one going into the giant shell! I can just imagine it's little voice, "I going on a 'venture into the giant shell to see what's in there! Hello in there! *echoes back* Eeeep! I gonna go hide in a tree! That's too scary!"

I love picture 4, he seems to be saying "One day, I'll be big enough to fit in here!"
I have had hermit crabs for over 9 years so far (Yes, I got them when I was 7) I currently have 6 hermit crabs (last time I checked anyway) split between two tanks, one is a 30 gallon and the other is a 35 gallon with a 15 gallon topper tank. I believe I only have Purple Pinchers.

Yes, she does! :) You have to fill out an adoption application and be approved.
