?eating a starfish?

Post by jasonmom » Sun Jul 14, 2013 2:56 pm

My son put in the free starfish and sanddollar he got at the beach with our PPs. The tiny is missing and the starfish appears to be getting eaten. Do they eat starfish? If so, where can I get more?

And I think sand dollars are good calcium source. You might check Hermit Crab Addiction, too. HCP and HCA are the BEST

Starfish get squooshy and mold easily in the crabitat as well. I wouldn't use them. Unbleached sand dollars are great to use though.

The starfish/sea stars from THCP are similar in texture to sand dollars, they are dried somehow. So far no mold, etc and they've been in the tank with the calcium sources for several weeks. What's left of them that is, both tanks of crabs really chowed on them.Peg
