Gaining legs instead of losing?

Where to post and/or get advice if your hermit crab is losing legs. If you suspect your crab is molting, please post in the Molting forum.

Gaining legs instead of losing?

Why have my crabs both gained one new bright and shiny leg yet they neither one have molted and none of the rest of their body is bright and shiney other than their purple pincher?

Probably because they have molted, you do not want your hermit crabs to lose legs!! Also they will molt when the time and conditons are right. So don't stress about it.

it might be the armor leg. The armor leg protects the inside with the big claw when hiding in its shell.
