Crabby Cam Videos (Updated 12/30/19)

Post by Motörcrab » Wed Dec 19, 2018 11:58 pm

Edit: I think instead of making a new threads every time I upload new crab clip I will just add it here to the first post. I think it will be easier to find the videos rather than trying to search through a bunch of posts.

So cute! Is that a certain kind of spaghetti? Or just plain old regular spaghetti?

I get it at Aldi's. It's their Simple Nature organic brand. It's only around $1.10 a box. I also gave them the whole wheat version and like that as well.

I always break my spahetti in half before cooking. Just press the unopened box against the edge of the counter. (Sorry if I offend any Italians. I know that's not how you should do it) When cooking I bring plain tapwater to a boil. No salt or oil. Then I add the spaghetti stirring it every minute or so. That way it doesn't stick together. When cooked, about 10 minutes I drain it and pull a few pieces out for the crabs. I sometimes add organic unrefined coconut oil to the entire pot before serving too.

I usually give them two or three pieces in two separate piles every 2-3 weeks. That way one guy doesn't carry it all off! I usually put it on the substrate or pieces of bark instead of in food bowls.

I never tried it, but you may be able to grind the spaghetti in a coffee grinder and serve that way too. I really think the like the texture of it cooked since it's a bit different compared to dried foods and fresh veggies.

That is so funny that you said that, I break it in half too and my boyfriend freaks out bc he is Italian!! “That’s not how you cook spaghetti!” Lol! I want to give my crabbies some spaghetti, we eat it often so I’ll just put some in there next time. Thank you for sharing that, I would have never thought about giving them spaghetti.

I took a cue and tried some spaghetti tonight and my one guy came out a few times right away to chow down. The spaghetti is in the one shell on the right.

That's great! They really devour it when they like it!

Here's a similar post I made back in August about pasta. Most people have had positive results with the few responses.

Yesterday I uploaded two new videos of my guy. One was a shell fight and the other is of the attacker changing into a new shell after changing into a new shell after adding and dipping them if salt water. Links are in the original post.

Uploaded three videos tonight. Two for a lack of a better title are of my crabs finding new ways to play on the wheel! The videos explain why it moves or I find it knocked over.

The third video. I'm not sure what is going on. Diablo looks like he was watching professional wrestling and come flying out of nowhere off the top rope! I'm still puzzled at this one!

As always videos are posted in the first post.

I just noticed this now, it's weird because I named my camera Crabbie Cam while setting up before I even saw this thread lol
