Wyze Cam

Post by FairyDefender » Wed Jun 05, 2019 7:51 pm

Has anyone had problems with wyze cam getting too hot in the tank or humidity bothering it? I just got one & put it in last night. Today while feeding I noticed it feels pretty hot, obviously, it's in an 80° humid environment, lol. Just wondering if there is maybe a way to put it outside or if the conditions will cause it to malfunction.

The Wyze Cam I had stopped working after a couple of months. I have no idea if it was because of the heat/humidity of the tank. I know the company is making one for the outdoors. The cameras I now use are the 360 Home Security Camera. Which actually I think are easier to position.

I put mine on top looking down. I don't put it inside the tank

Do you have that camera in the tat or on the outside?

Inside. I have 2 in the big tank and 1 in the smaller tank. Sometimes I just have to wipe the lens off.

Wyze Cam

I’ve had mine inside my 29 and right next to my ultratherm for about 8 months with no problems. I have another one on top of another tank but dust will build up after some time and block the view a little. I like the inside camera view a lot better.

I usually just set my cam on the top of the glass top looking down. I usually don't attach the cam so I can easily move it around. On the occasion I want to mount the cam to get an view that the cam won't stay in place I use pieces of Velcro. That way it is still easily movable!
