Alder cones for Hermits?

Post by baybayshermitcrab » Wed Jan 15, 2020 11:54 am

Hello everyone,

I've been thinking about getting a pet hermit for awhile and have been doing lots of research on them. I came across catappa leaves for hermits which shrimp also use. I then find these Alder cones that lowers PH levels and is a stress reliever for shrimp. I was wondering if the same applies for hermits and if these are safe to pair with hermies? Thank you!

I can’t vouch for stress relief, but if they’re safe for shrimp they should be safe for hermit crabs, as well.

I've threw in dried cattapa leaves in. They don't really care for them for my crabs but may be different for yours. I can def vouch for shrimps living alder comes, but I haven't put them in for crabs yet.

Anything shrimp safe is crab safe.
