I used a cork screw to put holes in the containers. No cutting. An they are doubled up. The top dish is settled into another dish. I remove them without disturbing anybody below or crushing tunnels or holes. Plus, if the bowl leaks, the bottom dish catches the water, preventing a flood or bacterial bloom.

I found craft mesh at Walmart. I’ve also heated harder plastic with a hair dryer and even a lighter to bend it.

we have gotten the containers and we tried to do a quick diy with a pizza basket and hot glue Image
It didn’t turn out the prettiest and the hermit crabs were to afraid to fully submerge so we are just going to get mesh and zip ties and dii ok what you did! Thanks for all the great advice
