Can the hermits break the glass of the tank somehow? All day everyday I hear them banging their shells up against the glass of the tank and i’m worried that they might chip the glass and cause a break? They could be climbing and then they fall and I hear a loud knock against the glass caused by their shells.

Hasn't been reported to happen yet! I used to have a custom tank that was three feet tall and they never managed to bounce hard enough to cause damage.

They may not be able to break the glass, but watch out if you have a mesh lid! I had a crab once climb up and tear a hole in the mesh! I woke up at 3 am to this scratching noise, at first I tried to ignore it but finally I went to investigate and found the crab, Flame, crawling across my bedroom floor!
