Wolf. You did absolutely amazing! The time, energy and dedication you've put into this project (not to mention $$) is not to be overlooked! Your documentation will help all who attempt this in the future.
And curlz has pretty much made history! And has shared info that will help you and wode and all the others who take on this challenge!
I commend you and the others (and your helpful husband) for all your efforts. And I'm sure all hermie lovers have enjoyed this thread!
I wish I could access all those emoticons from my phone! There's be a whole bunch of dancing bananas and other cheers right here!

I know I'm new and didn't get the chance to follow this from the start, but one thing stuck out a lot..

How high did the ammonia get?

.25ppm is lethal to most creatures.. when its .25 in a smaller container its even worse..

The only solution to pollution is dilution as we say in the SW world..

Of course I mean no disrespect or anything, what other water tests did you check?

She did, months ago, look through all the pages and you'll see the photos of their growth. And she got the little ones to a month but none managed to make it to land. :(

Did they have to lay their babies in water? Did you have to spend extra money?

Yes, I linked to a video of the spawning. And yes, it was very expensive. No such thing as "extra money" here, so we had to make some sacrifices. Two buckets of salt alone were $100. In total, the whole project was well over $300.

Wolf,

Hi! Do you have any pictures of the babies? I have never seen pictures of baby hermit crabs. Maybe one day mine will have babies. I keep a saltwater pool for them.

Wolf, this is AMAZING! I know this topic is a few months old now, but I just read all thirty pages of it today. Thank you for sharing your baby crabbies adventure with us! :D

The early pages in this topic have loads of great pictures! It looks like you'll probably need more than a saltwater pool to raise them though.
