And a new video, showing my tanks and bottles. Underlined it in German an English. ;)
Not very spectacular, but you can see the different movements of the water in bottles and kreisel-tanks.

I just did a basic cleaning with one of the bottles (the right one) and found still 231 lining larvae in it.
Now I have to clean the other one,...

love the make shift K-tanks! Question; where do you warm up your water for the change times?

Currently no were, because we have hot summer temperatures in Germany about 28-30°C (82-86°F) or even more.
Last time (in November it was very cold!) I used a big bucket with a normal aquarium-heater.

I thought hermit crabs couldn't have babies without being near the ocean.?

They have an ocean!
Image
OK, a very, very, very small ocean. With some little waves against a minor cliff. ;)
It's a 15g basin, which I build 1 1/2 years ago. Since that time, one of my Ruggies and two PPs used this 'ocean' to release their babies. :)

And mine drops her eggs in my tiny 4x4x4 inch water dish with bubbler. And always gets the right one (salt). They are pretty smart :)

Update:
I have lost some larvae during the last days. But still 550-600 are left. :)
Most of them are stage Z3, some had just become Z4.

Today I caught all larvae in the small Kreisel-tanks, becouse I had to do a thorough clean-up.
Every larva was counted and I made group photos of the larvae of each tank.

76 larvae from Kreisel-tank 1:
Image

84 larvae from Kreisel-tank 2:

177 larvae from Kreisel-tank 3:

101 larvae from Kreisel-tank 4:

Altogether with 76 larvae in the bigger Kreisel-tank, there should be exactly 514 larvae at stage z4 left. :)
