Pool sand?

I'm making sure I dont have any sand that would work before going to buy some play sand but does anyone know if pool filter sand would work as a nice substrate? I have some eco earth that I would mix it with

If you look under substrate in the care section, it does list pool filter sand as an alternative to play sand.
