Re: Crab came to friends defense
I can understand why you're skeptical Blab-crab but I do believe it was a crab standing up to a threat and not an attempt to escape. As an inexperienced crabber in 2005 I impulse purchased 9 crabs from a horrid, air conditioned shop where more than a hundred were packed into a wood and chicken wire ...

Crab came to friends defense
I witnessed something tonight I've never seen a crab do before. I have fish net strung horizontally across my tank and spotted a crab on the underside of it where he'd trapped himself. He was trying to come up through a small gap between the net and the glass but a small overhang in the net prevente...

Just because someone is searching for new sources doesn't mean they don't have a supply built up. True but a large volume of ads sends a message of it's own. In the effort of fair play, have you also written to THCP, LHC, and HCV asking for pictures of their facilities? Maybe I've just missed them,...

Personally, I WOULD pay extra for a crab I know is being properly cared for by the seller and will be less likely to die when I get them home. How do we know this is the case with this seller? ELHC in that way is run the same as THCP. They hold the crabs for months or even years at a time and that ...

Unless she's a large crab the span between molts isn't close together at all. Smaller ones can molt every month or two and frequency decreases with size while duration increases. Yours had 3 months to recover and prepare for this impending one and I would venture a guess that she is now very well pr...

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d14/dirtgirl62/Crabs/100_3261-1.jpg That's my boy. It's been a few months and I still miss his presence in my tank. That's distressing to know. I was actually pleased that he molted so frequently, took it as a sign of great health and conditions. Feel kinda like a ...

Question for *Kathy* (or anyone else that wants to jump in)
Kathy I was tooling LHC's archives and found a thread with a question of what causes molts to go wrong that you'd responded to. One of the causes you mentioned was an under or over active molt hormone. I didn't know there was such a thing and always attributed infrequent molts to poor diet or someth...
