Re: Substrate ?
I thoroughly mix mine- 5 parts sand to 1 part cocofiber (I use Eco Earth but there are other brands). I make sure it's all sand castle consistency throughout. Not too wet, not too dry- it should hold it's shape when pressed so they can make good tunnels and caves. I know other people add in oystersh...

Re: Walking on EGGSHELLS.
my crabs always have a plain, half eggshell in the tat. I have 2 Es that will crawl inside of it to hide while they pick at it to eat LOL It's super cute. I've never noticed a smell from it because I give them a rinse and dry them before putting them in the freezer to store.

Re: Fresh caught fish for crabs
We stock our freezer every summer for us humans. We get mostly salmon, but also some trout, grayling, cod, rockfish dolly vardin, arctic char. I take trimmings, including bones, fins, some organs and meat and cut it into portion sizes then spread on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and free...

I always forget to give them feathers! Thanks for bringing this up! My budgie is molting, so now is a perfect time for me to stock up lol
Re: Honey?
One lovely thing about honey is that it never goes bad. So even if you don't dehydrate it, a bottle that is just for the crabbies could last a year or more. It might start to crystalize at some point but you can still eat it like that or heat it up to dissolve the crystals and it's good to go again :)

Re: How to feed mixes?
Like everyone else said, a pinch of this and a pinch of that in a dry bowl. When NaRnAR had her shop, she had one called Sick Crab Smoothie. It was a powder mix like the others but I mixed with with either honey, coconut oil or red palm oil. It got several sick rescues I had back then to start eatin...

Re: What's on today's menu & recipe sharing
I've discovered that a worm poop dish is a constant must lol. I also scored a coffee grinder for $4.50 at goodwill so I'm going to use that to mash some stuff and make some mixes so it's easier for me to feed in moderation. Zoo mom of 3 cats, a dog, a fish and 3 (for now) crabs [emoji15] Nice score...

Re: What's on today's menu & recipe sharing
[emoji15] ^^ how many crabs is that for? I'd love to give mine a super extensive mix daily but with only 3 stuff goes bad quick [emoji17] Zoo mom of 3 cats, a dog, a fish and 3 (for now) crabs [emoji15] 6 crabs. But very small amounts of each thing. The dry stuff is litterally like less than 1/8 of...
