Yup! My guys absolutely love the stuff! White poop everywhere! At least it is easy for me to clean up since I use EE.

Definitely expand it in saltwater...it really helps to prevent mold. You could even use double strength salt water to be sure. I have made the switch to 100% EE a while back and I would not go back to sand. The crabs loooove the EE.

I agree with MudcCrabDude. I only have six, ranging from small to a smallish large in a 33 gallon tat with 3 second levels. I like them to have more than enough room to molt in peace and grow. I may add another one in the future, but for now I am happy with my six. Just my 2 cents though. :D

When I set up my 33 gal Exo-terra, I removed the background. It seems to crumble relatively easy, and I just did not want to take the chance of one of the crabs eating it. For me it simply wasn't worth the risk.

I don't iso for molting either and I have not had any problems so far. [smilie=fingerscrossed.jpg] I honestly think isoing for molting would just stress them out and possibly delay the molting process. I would only iso for molting if it was a surface molt or some other potential problem arose. Just ...

Mine keep turning up dead. I don't think I have any live ones left in there. :( Could the high salt content of --well-- everything be doing them in? I was wondering the same thing. I have not picked up any rollie pollies yet for the very same reason. I am afraid that the high salt concentration in ...

I am intrigued by the rollie pollie idea, however my substrate is EE expanded with double strength salt water. I also occasionally mist with salt water. Will the salt harm the rollie pollies?

Honestly, I believe that my guys probably died as a result of gill damage due to extremely dry conditions prior to purchase rather than PPS. But, I guess I will never know for sure.

Aww, I'm so sorry you lost one. Don't blame yourself though, you did not do anything wrong. Sometimes these things just happen. :(
