HCA: Hermit Crab Association

What are good sources of protien for crabs? Right now, all the protien they are getting is from their eggs once a week. I give them the shell every day with other foods, does the shell have protien?

I was wondering if i can give them oats. I have Quaker oats, and it says on the label 100% Whole Grains, 100% Natural.

I got a coconut! Im gunna give some to my hermies, but u know on the shell of it, theres this brown stuff that comes off? Can i give that to them to?

WIll they be OK if they dont have salt water for about a week? Cuz i dont know the next time my mom is gunna wanna take me to petsmart.

Me and my mom went to petsmart today and got this Aquarium Salt stuff. It says on the front, Natural Fish tonic. The brand is API and i thought this was going to be SALTWATER, but just now when i was about to mix it, it says, For Freshwater Fish. I DONT GET IT!!! SHouldnt it say for Tropical fish or...

Tomorrow im going shoppin fo rthe hermies! Im going to go to Wal-mart for a shower caddy, Michaels for some shells, and Petsmart for salt water mix. My question is, whats the best kind of salt water mix, and should i mix it with Distilled or Spring water?

My mom made some broccoli with our dinner tonight, and i was wondering if i can give it to the hermies. It was cooked, and she said used olive oil, to steam it or something? Is it ok?
