Wild caught fish

I was wondering if you could feed the crabs fish caught from a lake. I live on a lake and we catch tons of fish.

The fish we have today is gar.

And, if I can feed it to them, should I leave it raw, or cook it? (if I cook it, how should I do it)

Raw fish?

My brother goes bowfishing and shoots carp and gar all the time. Could I feed them gar/carp/catfish wild caught from a lake (lake Murray). Do I need to cook it, or feed it raw?

Seriously tho, substrate is WAY more important than salt water. If you can't take care of them the way they should be, (since your mom won't let you spend money on them) then maybe you could adopt them out to a fellow HCA member.

Just make sure they have freshwater with them and they should be fine (considering they aren't strawberrys). And whats up with the substrate? Why dont you have it in yet?

If your tank is only big enough for one pool, then you need a bigger tank, but since you say your crab is a pp, then he definately needs fresh water. Also, it sounds like you only have one crab, they are social so you should think of getting him a buddy.

Is it ok for one crab to eat another crabs exoskeleton?

My crab that I accidentally disturbed while he was down had already molted. He came up without eating the exo so I dug it up and put it on the surface next to where he hangs out, but now another little crab is eating his exo. Is it ok for the other crab to eat his exo? Or should I take it out?

Freeze dried flies?

I have some freeze dried flys from a few years ago that I fed to an anole I used to have (my cat caught and paralyzed its back legs). Well I found the flys under our kitchen sink (where the chemicals are). It says its good for hermit crabs and reptiles. Is it still ok to feed to them. Would they act...

Is it ok to use a sponge?

I read many times that they need a sponge to drink from, because they don't drink directly from the water, but ive read a few times on this site that sponges are bad. So, which is true? I have a large sponge in my tank that I keep in a bowl. Do I need to get rid of the sponge and just use a ...

My new crabs won't eat!

I've had my crabs for about 3 weeks now. And ive never seen them eat. I've never seen any missing food. Never little bites out of it. I had been feeding them carrots, grapes, and just pellet hermit crab food. They haven't eaten any of that. Yesterday I put in some rat food, solid blocks, and noticed...

When crabs molt, do they change color

I know that when they first molt, they are lighter, but when their exoskeleton hardens, and they start getting back to normal, is their color different, or does it go back to the way it was? Because I have the most beautiful purple pincher ive ever seen. She's got bright redish pink legs on top, and...
