No paint. That's fantastic, though. Thanks!NotaMallard wrote:Yep, it's okay. As long as there's no paint on the front chipping, it'll be fine.

Coconut Hut chipping? Is that bad for hermies to eat?
So I have a coconut hut (the pet store kind) that was given to me with a hermit crab. My hermit crabs seem to adore it, but I've noticed that the coconut is chipping on the inside. I can easily break off a thin layer with my finger nail so the crabs could definitely too. If they ingest it or try to ...

You're cage is so sweet~ That's really gorgeous and especially for a 10g. I have a 10g but it's really very boring on the bottom. I'm so jealous of your plastic basket! Know where I can buy any? And you seem to have bowls on your second level, too? How'd you get them up there? You're cage looks so n...

Fizzmatix: hahahaha. That -would- be something. Come in, and suddenly the net you ordered is gone. Wow. Thanks for all your help, by the way. It's been really great talking and learning from you! KrazyKraber- That's the reason I got the tape =) The velcro patches were so small, and not very sticky x...

Well from what ive seen there has been no sign of climbing on the netting, to be honest there are only 3 of the 6 crabs up most of the time. No idea whats going on, i think they got a little stressed when having to move them into ISO while i deep cleaned out all the mites in the tat. I'm sure they ...

In relation to the crab getting stuck you could alternatively get suction cups with hooks, make some holes and attach it to the back of the tank that way. Then if anything happens the suction cups will just fall off no big deal seeing as ive seen a few of my hermies fall off their branches and thin...

I have the climbing wall, too. At first I thought my large crab wasn't strong enough to pull himself up but after he pinched me I knew that wasn't the case. He's definitely strong enough! Anyway, I figured out that the reason he wasn't climbing it was just because the fibers weren't out far e...

Man, I know -exactly- how that feels. I recently just started getting my crabbies salt water. I had just palced it in and checked on them a half hour later. Zipper was checking out the water, and I think drinking it, but the second I had walked in the water he turned and ran away to go hide. Stinks ...

I have the exact same climbing wall as you, but haven't been using it because it got quite disgusting, I'll clean it soon. The nails are from molting, and in captivity they usually don't wear down because they aren't climbing on rocks all day. When my hermit crabs were new, none of them had nails (...

The crab addiction nets are really well made but making them yourself might take weeks if you don't know what your doing. For $5 without shipping it's a pretty decent price. I have also noticed some of my crabs climb some don't I think it just depends on what they want to do. Seeing as they have th...

Fishing net. Got it <3 I'll check Michaels and Ben Franlkin and see what they have. Hopefully they'll have some net just right. I'm not sure how to make a net out of hemp if not. =) Thank you all so much. I'll call them first thing tomorrow. And thanks for the info about their 'toe nails'. Who knew ...

Is it one of those brown mats that come rolled up? I used to have one of those for my crabs - they didn't like it. I think they are hard to climb. I'd offer something like a fish net, much easier to climb. See if your crab will climb that before thinking he's depressed. Best luck! :) It is that one...
