Has anyone ever fed night crawlers to their hermies? I had some left over from a recent fishing trip so I cut one up (yea thats gross but I'm a country girl :) ) & put it in the tat. Well, they absolutly loved it!! They also go crazy for freshly killed meal worms, wax worms & crickets. I'm also wond...

I also use Deltona when ordering shells & they have great customer service. One of my shells, a $6 shell, had a hole in it when it arrived & I contacted them & explained that the shells were for hermit crabs & they apologized & promptly sent a new one. :)

Since reading this post last week, my daughter has harvested a small bowl of these "skins" from around our yard. Well the crabs in the 55g (mostly exotics & E's) love them, they will absolutely devour them. But the crabs in the 40g (PP's & E's) wont hardly touch them, at all..........weird

Honestly, I wouldnt use marine wood as it has harmful chemicals added to make it "marine grade". I actually work at a boat manufacturing facility & the wood that we use in the boats & for the upholstery is very, very strong smelling. I dont really know, but I would think that after a while, the fume...

Well, so far so good!! I am going to buy a night bulb also.

My local Wal-Mart also has "critter" bulbs in the pet section, I have had bad luck with those. The 3 I bought, the glass separated from the metal base. I do not recommend those at all.

Ok, so today i was in Wal-Mart in the light bulb isle & found a bulb made by GE. Its called "Reptile Rays" "Neodymium Daytime Heat Light", the one I got is 60 watts & they also had it in a night (black) bulb also. I paid around $4. I just put it on my leopard gecko's tank, I will let you all know my...

What is the difference in the incandescent bulbs form the grocery store & the reptile specific bulbs? Doesnt the reptile bulbs have certain things the crabbies need? Like uva or uvb or whatever?

I am all for the cheaper incandescent bulbs if they provide the essentials that the crabs need.

ZooMed bulbs

Does anyone ever have problems with the ZooMed day bulbs? It seems that every time I buy them, they dont last very long. Example: I bought a 60 watt day bulb on Saturday, by the very next Saturday it was blown. Thats an $8 bulb lasting only 1 week, not worth it.

What brand of bulbs do you all use??

Well, I got my 2nd order in last week & once again I am very please with the quality/quantity/price of it. I got 8 med/large turbos (jade & banded) that are all beautiful. Then I also go a large pearl jade turbo that has a 1 1/2" opening, very pretty, but upon inspection I noticed a small hole up on...
