Re: Heat Lamps VS Heating Pads
I used heat lamps, and ceramic heat emitters when I first started. I switched to ultratherm heaters a few years ago and have never looked back! On large tanks, you do have to sometimes use more than one, but it is low wattage, safer, and waaaaaaaay less maintenance than anything else.

Re: Viola Shell Modification
(Helps that you're great at picking out sweet illustrative angles... was thinking that just today when looking at your breeding photos - weird question, but have you ever done photography for natural history guides or the like? I think you'd be great at at.) Thanks! I actually got a job offer a few...

I would like very much to see your dermestids, plez!: OK!! :D First photo is them on the nasal turbinates of a moose. Re: My tank, some crab pics, bonus cats and lizard!
Mine haven't picked at it, no. But in the past, they picked at the magnaturals I got them which were foam. Probably just a matter of time. ![bigsmile ](./images/smilies/bigsmile.gif)

Re: My tank, some crab pics, bonus cats and lizard!
sort of unrelated to the current convo, but it is relevant to my upcoming project. What is your background made out of in your 120g? It looked like rock but I couldn't tell. It's a foam rock wall made for a 40 gallon. :D Bought on Amazon. Too expensive though I just figured out your Youtube channel...

Viola Shell Modification
My violas don't like to change shells, but one finally did today! She's been wearing this shell for about 3 years, and now it's pretty heavily modified on the inside. :o https://image.ibb.co/djVndR/viol_shell_mod_3_960x1280.jpg https://image.ibb.co/hw2NCm/viol_shell_mod_2_960x1280.jpg https://image....
