Sadly, no. This was probably 5 years or so ago. I lost the female C. rugosus from that group almost 2 years ago when I moved during her molt & the female PP to some nasty illness that wiped out most of my herd. Tried so hard to nurse that darn crab. She'd been with me a long time. I've been wrackin...

I don't know if the mixed species couple's eggs were fertile or not, they were the ones that left the eggs all over the tank & not in the water. I didn't even know what they were at first until I started cleaning them up the first night. I used to have pictures of the eggs & of them canoodling, but ...

Is it possible that hermit crabs mate underground? Mine almost always went at it on the edge of a water dish, like in your pictures. Exhibitionists, I guess. I had two different "couples" a few years ago and coincidentally, both involved C. rugosus, although one had a C. clypeatus mate. :rol...

Children, children, children... seriously? Get. over. it. This petty squabbling and micro-analyzing is utter stupidity and more than a few statements made are just too ridiculous to even address. And those of you with nothing constructive to add, but just felt the need to pipe up with the me too's a...

Another thing that sort of renders post counts meaningless is old posts are regularly archived or pruned all of the time to keep the size of the site manageable and so we don't exceed our server space.

It used to be shown there, but people became too obsessed with post counts and were making hundreds of nonsense posts just to boost their count. We used to have these cute little levels where you got a title depending on your post count too. There was stuff like crabber, super crabber, hermit crab a...

Like permanantly? It would soak up a lot of the water & probably eventually fall apart.
If it just fell in, you can dry it out & reuse it.

You can get a light fixture there, but depending on the type of bulb you want to use, you might have to take a trip to a pet store or order one online. HD would have regular incandescent & florescent bulbs, but not UV reptile type bulbs like a lot of people use. Probably would have some sort of plan...

I usually soak it in extra strength salt water for a day or so and then let it dry, either in the sun or in the oven on very low.
