Hi Wodesorel You have done all you can I think but was wondering if she has been given access to salt water as well as fresh.When Robbie was like that I sat him in salt water dish (shallow) and then in fresh water every day until he grewa molt sac .Then put him in cocohut in a depression in the mois...

So sorry she didn't live!One of my E's, who is my 3rd ever crab and has been here for about a year and a half has gone down for her first molt. I am hoping all will go well.I find that the E's seem to wait longer to molt and can't seem to find shells that they are happy in.She ran around frantically...

Do not move the molter.Get a 2 litre pop bottle, cut the bottom off, remove the lid and push it into the substrate so that the molter and exo are inside and the other crabs can't reach him.push it down deep into the sand .cover it with a coco hut or whatever you can to give him privacy and reduce st...

Thanks Mud crab dude The first google search you posted are the crabs I saw advertised.They look very interesting but do you think one alone would be OK?I live in the country and have maple and oak trees on my property in a wooded area.Is that what you mean that they need?Humidity wouldn't be a prob...

Halloween crabs

Someone in Ontario is selling what they call halloween crabs.They look very interesting but I wonder if anyone knows the real name for them and where I could find out the proper requirement for housing ,feeding etc.

Sounds like he will be OK.If one leg isn't quite right it will probably repair itself on the next molt.Good that you saw he was surface molting and could help him be safe!

Once he has eaten his exo and is running around you can let him be with the others ,try to make sure the others have good protein and minerals while he is in his little iso. you can also give him a quick bath in room temp. fresh water before he is loose with the others.I would rather leave him alone...

I would give him fresh water.Any kind of a hide will do just to help him feel secure.

Put a cocohut over him and then the top half of a 2litre bottle pushed down into the substrate so the other crabs can't get to him.put his exo in with him and a small container with water in with him then leave him alone till he eats his exo and comes out of the hut.I hope he makes it.
