I have looked high and low for suction cups to hold up my cholla wood, cork bark, plants, etc. I FINALLY FOUND something that works. WARNING: It is expensive.

Ratio of hermit crabs to shells?
How many shells is a good amount per hermit crab? I have approximately a dozen tiny to medium sized hermit crabs (with a large that my friend found wandering in her front yard). For a dozen hermit crabs I have approximately 45 shells in the tank. Most of them were purchased from the Hermit Crab Patc...

Thanks everyone. I did a quick check but it is the first time I ever heard that, and everyone seemed in order. I was thinking maybe one of the crabs was too close to another crabs on the net I have created ~ but no movement or fighting or anything like that. I am not really sure. They have plenty of...

Heard crab chirping...any ideas what this means?
This was late last night. I have had several molts recently, could this be why? They all get along well. Could they just have been 'talking' to one another?

Bottled water (Nestle Purelife) is it safe???
I HAVE NOT given this to my crabs yet. I found a caseload of bottled water in the basement (different brand than I am currently using). The ingredients say 'water is purified using reverse osmosis or distilation and enhanced with balance of miners for taste. Contains: purified water, calcium chlorid...

NEED INPUT! PIP of possible post-molter! WDYT?
I have not seen this crab in a couple of months. I just noticed him last night climbing on the screen top and I thought he was one of my other guys! I know my little one I posted a few days ago might not have molted, but I am really encouraged by this guy! It hurts to have him walk on me. I think I ...

Is this detrimental for my crabs?
With all the rules / concerns of feeding crabs (non-organic foods, iodine, etc) I only give my crabs food from the hermit crab patch. I don't give commerical food, but they do get a variety of things from the HCP. Is this OK? We don't buy organic. I am making sure they are getting all their nutrient...

Did this hermit crab molt? PIP!
He disappeared for *at most* a week and a half to two weeks. I just noticed him a couple of days ago in a different shell. *If* he molted, would there be an exo or some remnants of it? I didn't find anything like that. I did notice his legs were needle sharp but he is very tiny and it seemed like th...

Are E's less likely to change shells?
All my PPs easily (and readily) switch shells. However, my three E's have not switched shells (two I acquired last week). I know E's prefer different 'types' of shells so they have a plethora of options...but they all look so squished! Do E's just not switch shells as readily as PPs?

Callalilly-GREAT SUGGESTION! Thank you. I did actually move the heat lamp, but as of yet, the temp / humidity has not changed. The main reason I moved the lamp was to see if the crabs liked that spot because it was under the heat lamp or because they just like that spot because of the placement of m...

Thank you. I usually find that Petco's prices are generally higher. If I buy it, I will probably go with the HCP because I have to buy more shells & food, anyhow. :D I'm now trying to decide whether to keep the screen top I have and just buy that bilight, or get a different top altogether with a bui...
