HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hey----Tiger or Wolf can you easily see your hypos? Just got mine and have put about half of the container split between the 70 and the 120 gallon tanks and I don't see squat, well except the food mites that were already in the tanks!

that is really not too bad, I was reading up on them this morning wondering if I could divide one cannister between the 70 gallon and the 120 gallon tanks to treat them both. I haven't seen in the big tank but hey, might as well just in case I have missed them.

Please let me know how that goes, we did another round of baths and found another big fat mite on one of the violas. I think they want to pinch me.

Also, how many did you order for you big tank?

I think the ones I found in the bowl are food mites, looked closely I'm not finding any on crabs, but I see them in my worm castings. I still need to recheck the LHC ruggies and violas but the little suckers have moved the substrate around and gone under it so I'm trying to let them destress a bit.

so this morning I bathe one of the small straws I've had for weeks now and once again he is completely clean. He's been clean every bath and the most active by far so I put him into my tank. Now this is on my way out the door so I just left the bowl on the counter. Just now when I'm puttering around...

Haven't had mine long enough to be an expert on the long term, I haven't had any limbs drop from them and they are quite active. very cool. Yep we got this one at walmart, but, being clueless it sat around for a week before the drill and the hammer came out. Round two this weekend.!!
