Re: Unexplained, Constant Chirping
You know, I wonder if the wind is bothering him. For a while now it has been crazy windy at night (gusts up to 90mph), when it is normally pretty quite at night. I wonder if that is bugging him. Tonight the wind should be calm, so maybe he will be too. Other than that, there isn't anything that shou...

Re: Unexplained, Constant Chirping
I hope it is as simple as that. I'm just worried there is something wrong with him and I don't know it. Waking me up isn't a big deal. I don't sleep well in the first place, so if it isn't him waking me up, it would be something else. It is just that he chirps so incredibly loud and he is a persiste...

Re: Chirping...is it always a bad sign?
Hades is about the only crab of mine I hear chirp, except for the one time my small E decided to have a face off against one of my mediums. Poor little E ran for his life after the medium started chasing him  Anyways, Hades chirps for a lot of reasons. His main thing is when I put raisins in th...

Yeah, I did notice that his new legs were quite red compared to the dark maroon that is his normal coloring. I'm not sure if they were thinner (he's horribly shy and hard to get a look at), but I was happy to see that he could move around with ease at last. He was really struggling to pull around th...

Two legs in one molt?!
At the end of November one of my little guys, Hades, went naked and dropped two legs after a fight with another crab. It took a little over a week to get him to the point he could return to the main tank, and he promptly buried himself when he went back. From that point on Hades had remained buried ...
