I personally don't know much about which silicones are good and which aren't, but I've read on other threads here that GE Silicone II is not good. It has chemicals in it that remain even after it is cured. Just wanted to give you a heads up :)

Well, I did a thorough cleaning of the tank last night, replaced the coarse coco husk substrate with finer plantation soil, which is also all coco husk (the only reason I went finer is because it was cheaper). Thanks a bunch! I will change out the substrate very shortly. The problem shouldn't be with airflow, since I do not have the tank covered at all. The humidity still has no problem staying right up there, so hopefully the hygrometer is functioning properly. I bought it new, so I expect that it would ...
