Thanks for your input, I'll keep a look out but I'm usually up quite late and haven't seen any movement. If he was dead I'd be able to smell it through the sand right?

Molting still??
I had my smallest crab go down toward the end of November and he still hasn't come up yet. Is it possible that he is still molting? He's quite small, his shell opening is a little smaller then 1/2". The depth of the sand is about 6" if the unthinkable happened would that be enough to cover the scent...

I think that chirping is alright. One of my E's will chirp at all different times; when he is climbing on the top of the tank, when someone tries to climb over him, and he even chirped to let me know that he was up from his molt. It just depends on the crab, if you start to see more aggressive behav...

E's molting
I have 4 E's in a 10 gallon tank, they are all tiny/small but planning on moving them to a bigger tank in the near future. I have read that E's have trouble molting in tanks. I was wondering if anyone has noticed this problem with their E's? If you have, what did you do about it? How much substrate ...
