Re: Suction cups not holding!
Thanks guys! I just redid my crabitat a teensy bit and I will see how often things fall down now.

Suction cups not holding!
I recently got some suction cups to hang up plants and fish netting, and they are really good suction cups. However, my hermit crab Rommy is a large crab (MAYBE a larger medium, but he's pretty big) and he keeps falling despite the good suction! Is there a way to reinforce things better? I know this...

Pet Stores in Twin Cities, MN?
Hi all, Does anyone from Minnesota around the metro area know of pet stores that have good hermit crab conditions where I could go and consider adopting a new friend? I got my current crab at HarMar Pet Store in Roseville, but other than that I don't know of any other hermie-carrying stores outside ...

Re: Single crab owner- want friends. Help?
Thank you everyone! I just finished setting up Rommy's new crabitat, so I will think about getting more friends in the near future. I need to fill up the crabitat and get some shells first, then I think I will be ready.

Single crab owner- want friends. Help?
Hello all! I've had my lone hermit crab Rommy for four years now. I know, I know, he should have friends- however, before now I was always in the dorms or a small apartment that didn't allow for more than a 10g tank, and my crabby is quite large. He's been through four successful molts and he is act...

Tall tank layer ideas!
Hello all! So, today my crabitat literally shattered after a fiasco with trying to get it out of its home to replace the sand. This means I get to upgrade to a larger tank! I am likely going to be getting a tank that is more tall than it is wide, so I will have to utilize the height into levels. I'm...

Re: How to keep the tank warm during a power outage
Sorry to resurrect this, but I am flipping out right now because it's the first snow of the year and the power at my apartment is out. I am not home right now, my roommates told me about it, but I'm really concerned if the power doesn't come back on that my hermie will freeze. The heat is barely on ...

Re: And... he opened the tank??
Definitely weigh down your lid. I do, because recently Romulus has enjoyed climbing on the top of the tank... don't want to take any risks.

Re: Sits tilted back
I actually saw him climbing all over the top of the ceiling last night- had to put in my earplugs to sleep.
I even grabbed a picture with my phone:
I sure hope he doesn't nosedive while I'm awake, I will probably scream. Haha.

Re: Sits tilted back
Okay, good.
Now I'm just waiting to wake up to him hanging from the ceiling again. I joked with my friend about him thinking he's a bat. (Also, I did move the plastic wrap to the outside of the tank, so he can climb all he wants now!)

Re: Sits tilted back
How are your conditions? Temperature, humidity, air flow? Deep enough/moist enough substrate? Deep enough fresh water and marine salt water dishes for the crab to submerge? Temp is around 75-80, Humidity around 80, substrate is deep and sandcastle consistency, water dishes are fine. I think mine si...

Sits tilted back
Hey guys! I've recently moved my crab Romulus into a 10gal, and he's seemed to love it- he's pretty active, has been visibly eating, climbs a lot, even dug a little hole for fun. But for the past few days, when he's not roaming around, he's sitting out in the open- except he's tilted on his back a l...

Re: Tanks! (Pictures of Crabitats)
Question! Where does one purchase these fun hemp nets? I'm finally upgrading from a 5gal to a bigger tank in about a month and the net looks fun.
