I don't think I have any blues left, the last one has been down for months.

Re: Rough couple weeks at the 'tat!
I found putting them on a timer helped me a lot. It runs for 30 min on, 30 min off. It gives the crabs a bit of a break and the water doesn't have too much time to sit between cycles. This also give the sand around the pools time to evaporate a bit and keep a good medium level of saturation.

Re: New one lost a leg, is grooming it, still eating
You may want to wait until there's a bad fishy smell before you toss him out. Sometimes they seem dead but are not. Also remember the crabs you get from the same store are most likely just as stressed and may have a similar survival rate as your first ones. Make sure you disturb them as little as po...

I would try to stress him as little as possible, just keep the status quo with as little interaction with him as possible. He's probably stressed from being moved out of the wild.

Re: Anyone else have crabs with tunnel fever?
Yup, mine has started. I've posted pics of this time before where my tank looks like a roller-coaster for ants around the glass. Digging under the water dish, so annoying!

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com
We know why people don't do it, but you said a new business would never get off the ground because we let her get away with it, and I pointed out that that is incorrect. We would support someone else doing it, despite how tough it may be.

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com
If someone provides a viable alternative I'm sure most people would switch and stop supporting her. It just doesn't exist.SachOfSCP wrote: Do you guys not realize that even a company who can conduct business more efficiently will never get off the ground as long as people are willing to put up with LHC?

Re: Exo terra tank topper question
I have a self cut plexiglass cover on the front half and the light fixture has electrical tape covering all but 2 air slots. I use electrical tape or clear packing tape around any gaps and the crabs don't climb up there so I don't worry about them eating tape.
