Re: My Straw (Perlatus) baby thread. Update: Megalopa stage

Thanks for all the help in those late night facebook messages while I was in panic, Nat :)

edit: I just noticed the other female already has her eggs made, which mans they will drop within 26 days, that's bad timing for me :(

Re: My Straw (Perlatus) baby thread. Update: Megalopa stage

Thanks!

Got my first kreisel tank built, jut waiting for it to dry. Can't wait to try it out!

I have 2 separate crabs making eggs right now, so it looks like I should have a couple chances this summer. I'm going on vacation a few times though, so it's going to be difficult.

Re: My Straw (Perlatus) baby thread. Update: Megalopa stage

I have everything ready to go but I didn't build the new kreisel tanks yet, going to start them this weekend. I don't need them for the first stages anyway.

Re: My Straw (Perlatus) baby thread. Update: Megalopa stage

Thanks everyone.

I don't know when the act took place so I have no idea when the eggs should drop. Normally I know within 1 or 2 days they will drop so now I'm worried I'm going to miss it. Hopefully this girl knows to drop them in the salt water like her tank sisters did.

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com

But that's my point; how long do you think she'd even be able to STAY in business if everyone started asking for refunds when crabs don't arrive on time? She'd be forced to wait to take orders until she got her shipments and then no one would have to wait. I get that we all want exotics & that she'...

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com

It's either just a lot of work for 1-2 people to do on their own, or the supplies really do screw her around every year. We'll likely never know. As long as she continues to be the only online supplier for exotics, she'll continue to run her business this way. I don't think she'll change cause it wo...

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com

we see this every year, it's going to be delayed a bunch of times and a lot of people will ask for refunds before anyone starts getting theirs. Lots of people complain, some back her up. In the end, we're going to see this next year too, and the year after.. etc..

All you can do is wait.

make sure the room is dark and the tank is lit up, they can't see you sneak up on them as well.

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com

I wanted to mention to everyone getting blues, I used to keep my tank up around 85-90 degrees average, but since I lost a few blues and they always seemed to hang out in the cooler areas, I've dropped my temps back to the 80ish range. My straws still seem happy, but my last 1 (possibly 2) Blues seem...

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com

I've only lost 1 straw in 2 years. I lost 5 blues within 3 months. I think it was an issue with the shipment of crabs, not so much the species. They also spent at least 3 months at the pet store in cold horrible, turtle style tank conditions.

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com

if they shipped to Canada I would get 6 blues myself. I have only 1 or 2 left. :(
