Re: How can I get my crabbies to warm up to me?
A 29 gallon has the same size around but an extra 6 inches of hight. If they multiple levels and lots of plant cover you'll see them climbing around more. Also don't have bright lights on behind you in the room cause you're like a giant to them so they do get skittish when they are new or after a mo...

Re: Why do they turn shy?
I think it's instinct for them to be more afraid after a molt, since they take a while to get back to normal. I find the darker they get the less skittish they are again. Also, do you keep lights on in the room while you watch them? I find if it's nice and dark in the room and only the tank is lite ...

Re: Dun da da dun! Wild MHC pics! *super pic heavy*
I meant the availability of shells prevents them from being too picky, but I guess they do select from a specific range. I know my crabs all had really bad shells and now they are all super picky. Funny how quickly they become spoiled brats, just like my kids!

Re: my first molt successful !
Intil I hear that they're feasting on shrimp tails & lobster, like mine do occasionally, I say they're not totally spoiled yet! :hlol: I've even been known to shop for their foods at Whole Foods. There was always the running joke that my hermies eat better than we do. My husband knows where ...

And can any of you tell me what type of nerite shell these are? Both Bernie up there and below, my new one Bella and my 3rd E, bang Bang. I have lots of D shape shells, but no nerites!! I can't seem to find these with the bumps/grooves running along them anywhere. Bella http://i4.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: my first molt successful !
ya I was so worried because of the mad digger I posted about. I can't even take pics yet because she's so dirty, the sand has cemented to her shell and I'd have to rub it off. I think I'll just let her be for now and let nature take it's course. She really doesn't want to be held right now. She's ea...
